Report Samples
GAINS Reports allow students and teachers to monitor student progress toward mastery of the ACT Inc. College Reading Standards and Career Readiness Skills using retired or current ACT Inc testing materials. Reports are generated for the grade level.

Scale Score Roster:

• Each student is listed with each of the four subtests of English, Reading, Math, and Science scale scores
• College Readiness Score Bands are displayed in parentheses by subtest for each student
• National percentiles are displayed
• Average Scale Scores are displayed for the student group
• The range of scores is displayed lowest and highest (ACT scores range between 1 and 36)

Test Item Analysis Report:

• Test items are categorized by subarea and descriptor
• The number of students that scored in the various CRS bands is displayed after the N**
• The percent of students who scored in each CRS band is displayed for each descriptor

Performance by Item in College Readiness Levels:

• Test items are categorized by subarea and descriptor
• The number of students that scored in the various CRS bands is displayed after the N**
• The percent of students who scored in each CRS band is displayed for each descriptor

Student Score Report:

• Scale scores, the national percentile, and raw scores for each subtest are displayed on each individual student report
• The number of unanswered questions indicates the number of items left blank or not able to be scored by machine
• Student answers for each item are displayed with the corresponding correct answer. Lower case letters indicate an incorrect answer

GAINS also includes an Excel file of individual student data for further analysis by the school.
